All web hosting providers will provide web control panel for customers to further configure and control their web sites.  Like changing password, software install, setting up email accounts, setting up databases, setting up sub-domains, checking web access statistics, etc.

The most popular web hosting control panels are cPanel and Plesk.  There are also some other good control panels in the market, like DirectAdmin, H-Sphere, Webmin, etc.  Some companies develop in-house control panels to provide similar functionalities.

Several add-ons exist for some control panels, the most notable being Fantastico, a bundle of scripts which automate the installation of, but not the update of, web applications such as phpBB, Drupal, Joomla!, TikiWiki CMS/Groupware, Moodle and over 50 others.

• cPanel provides a graphical interface and automation tools designed to simplify the process of hosting a web site. cPanel utilized a 3 tier structure that provides functionality for administrators, resellers, and end-user website owners to control the various aspects website and server administration through a standard web browser.

• Parallels Plesk Control Panel allows an administrator to set up new websites, e-mail accounts, and DNS entries through a web-based interface. The administrator can create client and site templates, which predetermine resource allocation parameters for the domains and/or clients.  The site owner can set up email accounts, install programs change password, etc.
