Q:What is virtual
hosting?
Hosting company will provide Web server and
Internet connections for many different companies
or individuals at the same time. So that a company
or individual doesn't have to purchase and maintain
their own Web server and the connection to the
Internet. Every customer will have their own web
space on the Web server to store their web pages.
They also have their own domain names to access
those web pages.
Q:What is a Virtual Domain?
A Virtual Domain means that you can have your
own Internet domain name (e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com)
and your Web site without having to install expensive
server hardware and software. With a Virtual Domain,
you utilize our server's storage space, and you
are represented via your own personal Internet
web domain name (e.g. www.yourdomain.com) and
by your own personal email address(e.g. yourname@yourdomain.com).
Q: Can I transfer an existing domain name
to your servers?
Yes. You should keep the service with your current
provider while waiting for InterNIC to complete
the transfer process. We will provide you with
a temporary web space so you can transfer your
site onto our server. All email and web pages
will still be accessed from your current site.
When InterNIC announces the completion of the
transfer there is a 48 hour propagation period
where visitors could go to either site. At the
end of the 48 hours you should contact your previous
host to have them delete the old domain from their
records and update their DNS record.
Q: How long does it take before my domain
name is active?
Once the InterNIC announces that your domain
name has been registered (or transferred, if applicable),
it usually takes about 48 hours before it is activated.
All Internet providers must update their records
(DNS tables) to reflect the new site's location.
Q: Will I have unlimited access to update
my pages?
You have unlimited access via FTP
24-hours a day. As such, you can create and maintain
your web pages on your own computer and upload
files to your web site at any time you want.
Q: Can I upgrade my account?
Yes. You can upgrade/downgrade your account
at anytime. You will just pay the difference between
your current account and your new account or prolong
your contract automatically when you downgrade
your account. There are no extra fees involved
in upgrading/downgrade.
